Three artists will accompany you on this holiday. Acting as painting guides and coordinators of the workshops. Each has their own area of specialization and all three have extensive experience in Plein Air and are highly trained in the classical painting methods. The quality which brings them all together is a love of Tuscan landscape painting. Each lives here permanently or for the majority of the year.
Llewellyn Matthews is a classically trained representational artist painting in oil and dedicated to portraying people and landscapes. She has a passionate desire to follow in the footsteps of the old masters and to bring concepts from my classical training to landscape painting. After years of art studies, she became a full time professional artist and makes her living painting in Tuscany.
Tom J. Byrne has been a painter all his life. Raised and trained in art, in Ireland and in Paris, he moved to Florence to further his studies with the Angel Academy of art. In addition to painting, he has run art galleries, organised group exhibitions, published art books and started many life drawing organisations. In total he has 25 years experience as a painter and has exhibited in NY, London, Ireland and France.
Rory Haran is an artist who specializes in painting landscapes in oils. He studied in Florence from 1991 to 1996, after which he set up a studio in London. He has travelled abroad on many painting trips and returns regularly to Florence, where he has taught landscape painting. In his paintings he endeavours to convey the scene through impression and texture in an attempt to depict the vividity and beauty of nature.
